[ti:Apple’s FaceTime Is Coming to Android and Windows] [by:www.21voa.com] [00:00.00]更多听力请访问21VOA.COM [00:00.04]One of the iPhone's most popular features is FaceTime, [00:06.20]the live video service often used to connect family members and friends. [00:13.28]Currently, FaceTime can only be used by people using Macs, [00:19.64]iPhones or other devices running Apple's iOS operating system. [00:26.24]But Apple announced this week that is about to change. [00:32.08]In the near future, FaceTime will be available for Android device users, [00:38.88]as well as for computer users on the Windows operating system. [00:44.96]Apple announced the news during its yearly Developers Conference. [00:51.64]The change will come with the release of Apple's latest iOS 15 version. [00:59.72]Apple says iOS 15 will first be launched in beta testing next month [01:07.68]and will become available to all users in the autumn. [01:12.84]Since the service will remain an Apple-only product, [01:17.76]FaceTime calls will have to be started [01:21.12]by someone using a Mac or iOS device. [01:25.92]An Apple user can create a special internet link in the FaceTime app. [01:33.44]This web link can then be shared with Android device users [01:39.32]or people using Windows-based PCs. [01:43.48]Links can be sent out by email, text message, messenger apps or social media. [01:51.56]The non-Apple users can then use the link [01:56.24]to join the call through their device's internet browser. [02:01.96]When used in this way, the FaceTime service works similarly [02:07.92]to the widely-used video conferencing tool Zoom. [02:12.92]This new ability to create links [02:16.72]also makes it easier for all FaceTime users [02:21.16]to set specific call times and invite multiple people [02:27.04]to join meetings ahead of time. [02:30.16]Apple says that all FaceTime communication [02:34.72]-- even on the internet -- is encrypted "end-to-end." [02:40.52]This kind of encryption is designed to protect messages [02:46.36]and other content from being seen or saved [02:50.56]by third parties when it is passed between device users. [02:56.28]The FaceTime changes come [02:59.52]as video conferencing services saw a huge rise in popularity [03:05.60]during the coronavirus pandemic. [03:09.64]More people have turned to the services to stay connected [03:14.64]while working from home and taking part in online learning. [03:20.60]Apple also announced other changes to the FaceTime service. [03:27.04]One new feature is called "spatial audio," [03:31.24]which the company says makes voices during a call [03:35.84]sound like they are coming [03:38.04]from where the person is positioned on the screen. [03:41.84]New microphone settings are designed [03:45.16]to separate a user's voice from other noise. [03:49.92]Users will also be able to see more faces [03:53.68]when using Group FaceTime, Apple said. [03:58.76]Another feature is called SharePlay, [04:02.36]which permits screen sharing and real-time interaction [04:07.52]between people during FaceTime calls. [04:11.24]For example, device users can listen to music [04:16.48]or watch television shows or movies together through FaceTime. [04:22.76]The system is designed to keep everyone's playback [04:26.92]in sync as they watch. [04:30.16]Apple says SharePlay is set to work [04:33.96]with several major media streaming services, [04:37.88]including Disney+, ESPN+, HBO Max, Hulu, TikTok and others.
