[00:14.08]French officials, however, disagree. [00:17.80]"My name was Jeanne. It still is Jeanne, [00:21.16]after I've been declared dead in 2017," said the 59-year old. [00:28.44]She cries at times when explaining her story [00:32.32]and what she plans for when she will officially be "alive" again. [00:39.56]It all started, Pouchain said, [00:41.96]when the family received a letter four years ago [00:45.92]from a court saying mistakenly that she was dead. [00:51.40]The letter also said she owed money that her husband had to pay. [00:56.80]The letter was part of a legal process launched [01:01.36]by a former employee of Pouchain's cleaning business. [01:07.04]It has not been easy or quick to fix the mistake. [01:12.92]Pouchain is unable to work and afraid to leave her house [01:18.88]because she does not have an identification card [01:24.00]or social security number. [01:27.36]She lives as a recluse. [01:32.08]Some of the family's belongings were taken by the courts [01:36.80]and all their saved money has gone [01:40.60]to trying to get things back to normal. [01:44.72]"My life, well, it's nothing. I feel I'm of no use. [01:50.44]I'm nothing and I'm of no use. And this is hard," Pouchain said. [01:57.60]She spoke to Reuters in the house [02:00.00]she shares with her husband Pierre-Jean [02:03.28]in a small village near Lyon, in south-east France. [02:09.40]Now, the courts are looking at her case again. [02:13.52]Pouchain and her husband have begun to have some hope. [02:18.40]But it will still take months. [02:22.76]The courts must overturn their decision, [02:25.80]and a judge must recognize officially [02:30.04]that she is not dead and never was. [02:35.28]She has great dreams for that day. [02:38.96]"I know exactly what I will do...I will get a health check, [02:44.12]because I know some things are wrong with my body," she said. [02:50.20]She said that she could not see a doctor [02:53.16]because she does not have a social security number. [02:58.40]She has several health problems, [03:01.40]including having lost most of her teeth. [03:06.44]"I would so love to be able to bite into an apple... [03:11.04]I would love to have teeth. I would be so happy, [03:16.24]even if they were to give me two dentures, [03:19.60]I would be happy to have teeth." [03:23.44]Her other dream is simply to be able to enjoy life again, [03:28.28]at home, with her husband, Pierre-Jean. [03:32.60]He is sure things will be put right. [03:35.84]"Hope is what makes us carry on," he said. [03:39.56]"Eventually, the outcome will necessarily be in our favor." [03:44.84]I’m Anna Matteo. 更多听力请访问21VOA.COM
