[00:01.80]Norway is very close to meeting its goal
[00:05.16]of selling only fully electric new vehicles
[00:08.44]starting this year.
[00:10.60]The Norwegian Road Federation (OFV),
[00:14.28]an automotive industry group,
[00:16.64]estimates that nearly 96 percent of new cars
[00:21.32]registered in Norway in January
[00:24.24]were all-electric.
[00:26.88]No other country has such a high rate
[00:29.48]of electric car (EV) ownership.
[00:33.32]The OFV noted that of the 9,343 new cars
[00:39.12]sold last month in Norway,
[00:41.20]8,954 of them were all-electric.
[00:46.92]Of the 50 most-sold models,
[00:49.36]only two were non-electric.
[00:52.96]The first of those came in 33rd place
[00:56.32]among the 50 models, the federation said.
[01:00.56]The European Automobile Manufacturers'
[01:03.04]Association (ACEA)
[01:05.76]reported the share of electric cars in Europe
[01:09.28]was just 13.6 percent during 2024.
[01:15.64]That was the first recorded decrease since 2020.
[01:20.08]OFV director Oyvind Solberg Thorsen
[01:24.24]said in a statement,
[01:26.04]"We've never seen this before
[01:29.12]...If the rest of the year continues like this,
[01:31.96]we will very soon be close to the 2025 goal."
[01:36.68]He noted that reaching 100 percent of the goal
[01:40.52]means to continue to offer
[01:42.76]the "incentives that make it profitable
[01:45.76]to choose an electric car over other models."
[01:50.40]Even though it is a major oil and gas producer,
[01:54.00]Norway aims to only sell
[01:56.84]"zero emission" new vehicles starting in 2025.
[02:02.12]That goal is 10 years ahead of the target set
[02:06.28]by the European Union (EU).
[02:10.28]Norway is not a member of the EU.
[02:13.72]One difference between the EU and Norway's method
[02:18.60]is that Norway has not banned the sale of
[02:21.72]cars with engines that burn fuel.
[02:25.28]Instead, Norway offers a number of tax breaks
[02:29.28]to EV manufacturers and owners.
[02:32.48]On the other hand, the country
[02:35.64]heavily taxes gas-powered vehicles.
[02:39.32]For example, Norwegian EV owners
[02:42.64]do not have to pay road tolls
[02:44.84]and receive free parking in public car parks.
[02:49.68]EVs are also permitted to use parts of roads
[02:53.36]normally saved for public transportation vehicles.
[02:58.16]While some tax breaks and incentives
[03:00.80]have been reduced over the years,
[03:03.12]EVs have still kept expanding
[03:06.20]across Norwegian roads.
[03:09.32]Frode Hvattum is a 50-year-old father
[03:12.64]of three who owns two EVs.
[03:16.80]He told the French News Agency AFP
[03:19.92]he started buying EVs
[03:22.04]because of his concern for the environment
[03:25.04]and for the benefits of driving them.
[03:29.16]He lives in an area near Oslo
[03:31.52]where the streets are full of Teslas,
[03:34.20]Audis and Volkswagens.
[03:37.40]Some less costly Chinese EVs
[03:40.52]are increasingly appearing too.
[03:43.84]Many homes have a device to charge,
[03:46.28]or supply electricity to, their EV's battery.
[03:51.20]Norway also has a large national network
[03:54.48]of superfast charging stations.
[03:57.44]Having a nationwide charging network
[04:01.04]was important for Hvattum,
[04:03.60]who, like many Norwegians,
[04:05.76]often travels by car
[04:08.08]to his second home in the mountains
[04:10.92]several hours outside Oslo.
[04:14.56]He said he finds it easy to plan and make trips
[04:17.48]with numerous charging stations available.
[04:21.28]"You don't have to plan your trip
[04:22.80]as much as before," Hvattum said.
[04:26.60]He added that he uses
[04:28.24]the 15-to-20-minute charging breaks
[04:30.88]his vehicle needs to make it up
[04:32.88]to the mountains to shop for food.
[04:36.52]Even if EV sales fail to meet
[04:39.00]the 100 percent mark this year,
[04:41.52]experts say Norway
[04:43.44]can still be seen as having met its goal.
[04:46.16]Christina Bu heads
[04:48.20]the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association.
[04:51.68]She told AFP,
[04:53.40]"We should finish the year
[04:55.08]at between 95 and 100 percent."

END OF TRACK. "END OF TRACK." The two men bowed. "Whoever was that person you were talking to?" she enquired, as soon as they stood together. The took of triumph faded from her eyes, she had grown worn and weary. The roses were wilting on the walls, the lights were mostly down now. Hetty, looking in to see if anything was wanted, found herself driven away almost fiercely. I only saw Master Jervie once when he called at tea time, The year 1747 was opened by measures of restriction. The House of Lords, offended at the publication of the proceedings of the trial of Lord Lovat, summoned the parties to their bar, committed them to prison, and refused to liberate them till they had pledged themselves not to repeat the offence, and had paid very heavy fees. The consequence of this was that the transactions of the Peers were almost entirely suppressed for nearly thirty years from this time, and we draw our knowledge of them chiefly from notes taken by Horace Walpole and Lord Chancellor Hardwicke. What is still more remarkable, the reports of the House of Commons, being taken by stealth, and on the merest sufferance, are of the most meagre kind, sometimes altogether wanting, and the speeches are given uniformly under fictitious names; for to have attributed to Pitt or Pelham their[112] speeches by name would have brought down on the printers the summary vengeance of the House. Many of the members complained bitterly of this breach of the privileges of Parliament, and of "being put into print by low fellows"; but Pelham had the sense to tolerate them, saying, "Let them alone; they make better speeches for us than we can make for ourselves." Altogether, the House of Commons exhibited the most deplorable aspect that can be conceived. The Ministry had pursued Walpole's system of buying up opponents by place, or pension, or secret service money, till there was no life left in the House. Ministers passed their measures without troubling themselves to say much in their behalf; and the opposition dwindled to Sir John Hinde Cotton, now dismissed from office, and a feeble remnant of Jacobites raised but miserable resistance. In vain the Prince of Wales and the secret instigations of Bolingbroke and Doddington stimulated the spirit of discontent; both Houses had degenerated into most silent and insignificant arenas of very commonplace business. "It certainly will be. Miss Widgeon," answered Maria, with strictly "company manners." "One who has never had a brother exposed to the constant dangers of army life can hardly understand how glad we all feel to have Si snatched from the very jaws of death and brung back to us." "Just plug at 'em as you would at a crow, and then go on your way whistlin'?" persisted Harry. "Hurroo!" echoed Hennessey; "that's the ticket." "Come forward, keeper," continued the baron, "and state how these arrows came into your hands!" "Yes." HoMEJULIA京香2018下载
