[00:14.16]Navalny is an opposition leader, corruption investigator [00:19.12]and strong critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin. [00:25.32]He got sick last Thursday on a plane flying to Moscow [00:30.40]from Siberia, where he had been campaigning. [00:34.72]The plane made an emergency landing in the Siberian city of Omsk, [00:41.08]where Navalny was hospitalized. [00:44.48]He was flown to Germany for treatment on Saturday. [00:50.08]Supporters of the 44-year-old dissident believe he drank tea that contained poison. [00:58.60]They blame the Russian government for his sickness, [01:02.16]as well as a delay in transporting him to Germany. [01:07.76]German Chancellor Angela Merkel had personally offered the country's assistance. [01:15.48]Berlin's Charité hospital said in a statement Monday [01:20.36]that Navalny "is being treated in intensive care [01:24.56]and remains in a medically induced coma." [01:29.08]The hospital said his condition is "serious" but not "life-threatening." [01:35.48]The team of doctors who have examined Navalny since his arrival on Saturday [01:41.72]had found the presence of "cholinesterase inhibitors" in his system, the statement said. [01:49.52]Cholinesterase inhibitors are substances found in several drugs, [01:55.52]but also in some pesticides and nerve agents. [02:01.36]The doctors said they had not yet identified [02:05.12]the exact substance found in Navalny's system. [02:09.96]Merkel is calling on Russian officials [02:13.88]to carry a full investigation of the poisoning of Navalny. [02:19.80]She added, "Those responsible must be identified and held accountable." [02:28.04]Berlin police officers and federal agents were sent to the hospital [02:33.56]to provide protection while Navalny receives treatment. [02:38.20]Russia's government had no immediate comment on the situation. [02:44.68]Doctors at the Siberian hospital that first treated Navalny [02:49.44]said Monday they had saved his life, [02:52.84]but that two laboratory tests found no poisonous substances in his system. [03:00.20]"If we had found some kind of poison that was somehow confirmed [03:05.56]then it would have been a lot easier for us," [03:09.36]senior doctor Anatoly Kalinichenko told reporters in Omsk. [03:16.32]The hospital's chief doctor, Alexander Murakhovsky, [03:21.08]rejected allegations made by Navalny's team that doctors in Omsk [03:27.60]had acted together with Russian security services. [03:32.36]Representatives for Navalny called last week [03:36.72]for Russia to launch a criminal investigation. [03:40.24]As of Monday, Russia's Investigative Committee had not opened a case, [03:46.52]a spokeswoman for Navalny said. [03:49.88]Ilya Yashin is an opposition politician in Moscow and a close ally of Navalny. [03:58.08]In a video statement, he urged Russian law enforcement [04:03.00]to investigate "an attempt at a life of a public figure" [04:07.52]and look into the possible involvement of President Putin. [04:12.88]Like many other opposition politicians in Russia, [04:17.72]Navalny has been detained by law enforcement [04:21.32]and harassed by groups supporting Russia's government. [04:26.64]In 2017, he was attacked by several men [04:30.80]who threw a chemical in his face that damaged an eye. [04:35.16]Last year, Navalny was rushed to a hospital from jail [04:40.52]where he was serving a sentence on charges of violating protest rules. [04:46.08]His team also suspected poisoning then. [04:50.72]Doctors said he had a severe allergic reaction [04:54.96]and sent him back to detention the next day. [04:59.04]I'm Bryan Lynn. 更多听力请访问21VOA.COM
